A vehicle VL is provided with a hydraulic braking device 2 on each wheel 4ER-RL and an electric parking brake 3 to brake rear wheels. A brake control ECU 1 receives detection values from various sensors 8 and braking demands from a braking demand output device comprised of a traffic jam follow-up control ECU 71, a vehicle distance control ECU 72, doze preventing ECUs 73, 74 and the like via in-vehicle LAN buss 6, and determines magnitude of braking demands according to vehicle conditions such as vehicle speed, and outputs operation signal to simultaneously or selectively operate the hydraulic braking device 2 and the electric parking brake 3 based on the determination result.
