Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize delay and fluctuation in a high-quality ATM cell of an ATM switch system.
SOLUTION: Everytime the ATM cell reaches an output buffer 3, a fluctuation measuring part 4 monitors fluctuation. The fluctuation is measured at a timing for changing a threshold value. If the value is outside the pre-determined condition, a request for changing a threshold value is transmitted. At receiving the notice, a threshold value to be changed is decided at a threshold value control part 5. Further, it is changed to the decided threshold value at the output buffer part 3.
