To provide an automatic equalization system in which divergence due to equalization processing is eliminated, and an equalizer can be converged at a high speed.
An automatic equalization system for automatically equalizing the baseband signal of a receiver in a digital wireless communication system and outputting an automatically equalized digital signal is provided with an automatic equalizer 302 performing automatic equalization by receiving the waveform of a baseband signal, a delay unit 303 receiving the baseband signal, a correlator 304 for calculating the degree of autocorrelation of an output signal from the automatic equalizer 302, and a judging unit 305 for selecting the output signal from the automatic equalizer 302 or the delay unit 303 according to the degree of autocorrelation calculated by the correlator 304 thus enhancing the stability of receiving operation.
