PURPOSE: To facilitate position alignment of the feeder to the leading end of paper, eliminate rebound of the originals and smooth the discharge of the originals by providing a stopping member which stops the original in the specified position to the feeder side and closely contacting the dash part thereof to the top surface of contact glass.

CONSTITUTION: An original stopper 27 is provided in the automagic feeder 10 between an original feed roller 22 and the position of a contact glass 2 opposing to its original discharge end 2b. More specifically, a stopping member 29 composed of a leaf spring material is fixed to the turnable stay 28 provided orthognally to the feed direction of the original 3 and a dash part 32 which is provided with a cushion material 33 such as rubber or the like along its outsidd surface is flexed and formed to the end thereof. This cushion material 33 is closely contacted onto the surface of the glass 2 by the elasticity of the stopping member 29 and the elastic force of the cushion member 33. The position where the dash part 32 is placed is made adjustable in the mounting part 30 of the stopping member 29. This makes the constitution extremely simple, enables sure operation to be expected and enables copies of high accuracy to be obtained.
