PURPOSE: To perform automatic loading while disregarding or modifying a check on writing DGC (digital gain adjustment), by discriminating the deviation in write DGC operation from the deviation due to other causes when write DGC operation is performed with deviation from a prescribed position.

CONSTITUTION: When a counted value exceeds a prescribed number, a DGC error detecting circuit 30 reports that to a host device 33 by a prescribed pattern through a control part 20 and a DGC error reporting circuit 32. The host device 33 sends an instruction to the control part 20 to complete automatic loading while disregarding the DGC error report. Further, the same effect is obtained by allowing an automatic loading device to retry the loading instead of sending the instruction from the host device.
