PURPOSE: To simply cut a pipe substantially vertically to the axis center even in a narrow space by fitting split-type circular rails on the main line side near a cutting portion and turning a rotary cutter in the radial direction of a pipe on a travelling body moving on the periphery of the rails.
CONSTITUTION: A handle 38 is turned to lift up an arm 4 to a travelling body 3, and a cutter blade 5 is separated from a pipe 8 to install the travelling body 3 on one fitting rail 11d. After that, the other rail 12d is fitted outside a position near a cutting portion of the pipe 8, and the travelling body 3 is rotatably mounted round the pipe 8 through the rails 11d, 12d. Secondly, with the travelling body 3 stopped, the handle 38 is turned while the cutter blade 5 is rotated by a motor and the cutter blade 5 is approached to the pipe 8 to start cutting. The handle 38 is stopped, with the blade projected inside the pipe 8, and the arm 4 is fixed. Subsequently, when a travelling roller 20 is rotated while the cutter blade 5 is still rotated to rotate the travelling body 3 round the pipe 8, the cutter blade 5 makes a turn round the pipe while cutting the pipe 8 to complete cutting the pipe 8.
