PURPOSE: To provide a pocket pager of a free sentence display type which can show such specific and desired messages as a prompt report of news, a prompt report of stock prices, the weather forecast, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A personal computer PC is included in a personal computer communication network 2 and previously inputs the ID numbers of the pocket pagers to be allotted, the types of messages, and the allotting periods and time points to a personal computer communication center device 7. The device 7 stores the information received from the PC in a secondary memory SM. A host computer HC transfers the prescribed data and address (ID number of radio pager) to a radio pager center device 4 according to the processing program stored in a main memory MM or the SM and based on the information given from the PC and stored in the SM. Then the device 4 stores the received data in a memory M and also calls out the corresponding radio pager via a radio pager base station device 5 to display the prescribed message.
