When a new exchange rate is received by a rate receiving part 38, a CPU 50 stores the received new rate in a new rate storage area inside a RAM 52. The CPU 50 executes the following processings immediately when there are no transactions at present, or after the end of transactions if there are. Namely, during operation in an automatic updating mode, an exchange amount for one pack including a commission is calculated while using a new rate and displayed through an amount display control part 30 onto an exchange amount display part. During operation in a confirmation updating mode, a reporting operation command is outputted, an alarming means 41 such as an alarm buzzer is operated by a remote monitor 40 and the reception of the new rate is reported to a clerk on the side of a manager.
