Concerning an automatic ticket issuing machine 1 for issuing the pass for the vehicle, this machine is provided with a photosensor 10 for detecting the approach of vehicle, laser range finder 20 for finding the range to the approached vehicle based on the signal from the photosensor 10, comparator circuit 30 for comparing the range found value calculated by the laser range finder 20 with a prescribed reference value, and ticket issuing part 40 having a driving means for moving a ticket issuing bar toward the vehicle just for the prescribed distance based on the value calculated by the comparator circuit 30.
