PURPOSE: To automatically adjust tilting by detecting that at least one of both side connecting parts of a spreader frame is engaged with a transported article and by intercommunicating chambers of both cylinders for holding the spreader frame.

CONSTITUTION: When a transported article 6 tiltingly put on a loading surface P is hoisted, by lifting down a spreader frame 4 with hydraulic cylinders 2, 3 of a lift bracket 1 one of both side connecting parts 5 is engaged with one of connecting part 7 of the transported article 6, and after this is detected by a limit switch 28 (or 27) a valve is opened to intercommunicate chambers of both cylinders 2, 3. Thus, according to load balance impressed to both sides of the spreader frame 4, a projecting stroke of both piston rods 2a, 3a changes to tilt the spreader frame 4 matching the transported article 6 and to inter- engage other connecting parts 5, 7. Thus, durability can be improved without adding excessive force.
