When journal data are recorded in a journal recording area 29a, image data inputted through an image read part 21b of a card reader unit 21 are compressed, and the compressed image data are recorded in the journal recording area 29a, and meanwhile, data read out from a magnetic stripe(MS) of a card or a bankbook by an MS information read part 21a, data inputted through a touch sensor panel of a customer unit 26, and other data related to transaction processing which are generated in the machine, are recorded in the journal recording area 29a as they are (without compression).
