PURPOSE: To attain the channel selection for only a broadcast station with a strong electric field as well as for a broadcast station at a weak electric field by selecting an operation button for strong electric field selection and weak electric field selection.

CONSTITUTION: In selecting a broadcast station at a strong electric field, the operation button of the 2nd switch circuit 2 is operated. Then a start circuit 3 is operated, a forward designation signal is given to a motor drive circuit 4 and a clutch mechanism, a motor 6, a slide bar 8, a search stop signal detection circuit 10 and a muting circuit are activated respectively and an attenuation element 13 is connected to a tuner circuit 9 via a damping circuit 12 to damp the sensitivity of the tuner circuit 9. In acquiring a station turning point, the clutch mechanism 5 is opened by a stop signal from a search stop signal detection circuit 10 to disconnect the motor drive circuit 4 and the muting circuit, the control circuit 12 is also disconnected, and the damping element 13 is disconnected from the tuner circuit 9. Thus, the sensitivity of the tuner circuit 9 restores to its maximum sensitivity.
