Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic water supply system that flexibly copes with environmental change, effectively prevents malfunction, can extend an appreciable distance, and is reduced in energy consumption and user-friendly.SOLUTION: An automatic water supply system includes a light projector 3 for applying light L1 toward a user of a wash basin and an optical receiver 4 for receiving light L2 reflected by the user. The system also has a control unit 5 for generating a switching control signal C of water delivery and water stop based on application operation of the wash basin by the user by using light reception signals S1 from the optical receiver 4, and a water supply unit for switching between a water stop state and a water delivery state by the control signal C. The control unit 5 makes the light projector 3 intermittently emit light by one shot pulse of characteristic frequency higher than power frequency, includes a filter circuit F for transmitting the frequency component equal to or higher than the characteristic frequency among the light reception signals S1, and senses the application operation of the wash basin by the fact that the intensity of light reception signal S1 transmitting the filter circuit F is a threshold value Th or higher.
