PURPOSE: To achieve durability and a high generation efficiency even at a high-speed rotation in an automobile alternator.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary yoke 6 consists of a pair of nib-shaped magnetic poles 6A and 6B which are laid out oppositely and the nib-shaped magnetic poles 6A and 6B form nib parts with a plurality of N and S poles at tip parts. A permanent magnet 11 is laid out at a part between the adjacent nib parts 8 (between the nib parts) of the different nib-shaped magnetic poles 6A an 6B so that the magnetic pole is equal to that of the nib part 8 and a protection cover 12 is laid out at the outer-surface side of the permanent magnet 11. The protection cover 12 is a band-shaped sheet being laid out continuously in a zigzag between the nib parts 8 of the nib-shaped magnetic poles 6A and 6B and is joined by spot welding so that the outer surface of the protection cover 12 is at the same level as the magnetic pole side surface between the nib parts 8 of the nib-shaped magnetic poles 6A and 6B.
