PURPOSE: To suppress the stress concentration and prevent the plastic deformation caused by the stress concentration by providing a rigidity gradually- decreasing part where the lap number of panel members gradually decreases over at least three conditions in a cross part where a plurality of automobile body members are connected to each other in a mutually lapped manner.

CONSTITUTION: Respective automobile body members 10-30 are connected to each other in a mutually lapped manner of the respectively attached panel members in a connecting part (a cross part) of a front pillar 10, a roof side frame 20, a front header connected to the front end of a roof panel 50 and the roof panel 50 when applied to a body structure of an automobile provided with Mohican rails on the right and left ends of the roof panel of the automobile body. At the cross part 1J of the front pillar 10 and the roof side frame 20, an arrangement is made so that a rigidity gradually-decreasing part where the lap number may decrease over at least three conditions by setting the lap number of the panel members to be three in the range (A), four in the range (B), three in the range (C) and two in the range (D).
