To improve absorbed energy in collision by forming inward bent edges facing a portion of a pipe of which cross section is almost circular and by forming a recessed part in the pipe continuously integrally with both bent edges.
Inward bent edges 6, 6a facing a portion of a pipe 5 of which cross section is almost circular are formed. A recessed part 7 is formed in the pipe 5 continuously integrally with such both bent edges 6, 6a. The bottom of this recessed part 7 is formed so that it is positioned just above the inside of the pipe 5 and forms some gap. This automobile door stiffener 4 certainly supports load by collision and has a shape stable to the load, because a portion (b) abuts to a portion (c) after buckling occurs at a portion (a) by a collision in the bend and load direction. Therefore, decrease in load resistance after buckling can be markedly reduced, and absorption of energy in a collision can be improved.
