Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an isoquinoline derivative, useful as a ligand or a nucleophilic catalyst, without going through optical resolution, but with a simple process.

The process for obtaining an axially chiral isoquinoline derivative represented by formula (3) includes reacting a compound of formula (1) and a compound of formula (2) at the presence of a catalyst containing a rhodium metal or an optically active bisphosphine (Q: =N- and the like; Z: O and the like).
