Title:
AZIMUTH INFORMATION ACQUIRING METHOD AND DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3430459
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire azimuth information based on the signal transmitted from GPS satellites.
SOLUTION: Two GPS(global positioning system) planar antennas 1a and 1b are installed in parallel back to back, signals from GPS satellites are acquired by the GPS receivers 2a and 2b connected to individual antennas, and sky regions 6a and 6b against antenna surfaces where the GPS satellites exist are specified by comparing the acquired signals. The azimuth value in the specific direction of cross lines between the antenna surfaces and the horizontal plane can be instantaneously outputted as an azimuth range with a width by referring to the azimuth values of individual satellites. This device comprises two GPS antennas 1a and 1b capable of specifying the azimuth by the antenna horizontal rotation to the rotation angle upper limit determined by the azimuth range and having opposite semispherical beams, the GPS receivers 2a and 2b connected to the GPS antennas 1a and 1b, a data processing section 3 connected to the GPS receivers in common, and a result output section 4.
