Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a toner contg. a colorless compd. uniformly dispersed in a resin and excellent in negative charge imparting property, negative charge kick-off property, aging stability and environmental stability by incorporating a specified trimellitic acid deriv. as a charge regulating agent having negative charge imparting property.
CONSTITUTION: This toner contains at least one of a trimellitic acid deriv. represented by the formula and its salt as a charge regulating agent having negative charge imparting property. In the formula, each of R1 and R2 is H, optionally substd. alkyl or optionally substd. aryl but at least one of R1 and R2 is not H. The charge regulating agent having negative charge imparting property contained in this toner is characterized by ester groups introduced into the trimellitic acid skeleton and has more excellent negative charge imparting property, negative charge kick-off property, aging stability and environmental stability than a known charge regulating agent having negative charge imparting property.
