Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a germicidal composition effective for exterminating fungal infection on plants while retaining its activity, by dispersing a germicidally active compound in the form of active particles in a polymeric material having a melting point lower than the decomposition temperature of the above compound. CONSTITUTION: This germicidal composition, to be used in granular or powdery form, is obtained by dispersing a germicidally active compound in the form of active particles in a polymeric material having a melting point lower than the decomposition temperature of the above compound. The polymeric material is e.g. a polyester, polyether, polyurethane, polyketone, polylactide. The germicidally active compound to be used is a compound of formula I (A is a group of formula II; B is a group of formula III; Q is a group of formula IV, etc.; R<1> is a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; R<2> is a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; R<3> is H, etc.; R<4> is H, etc.; R<5> is H, etc.; R<6> is a 1-4C alkyl, etc.; R<7> is a 1-4C alkyl). Specifically, this composition is obtained by the process in which the germicidally active compound of formula I is melted together with the polymeric material followed by cooling to effect solidification, and the resultant solid is mixed with an inert carrier and others followed by granulation.
