To provide a ball bearing where an engagement claw of a retainer made of a synthetic resin is hardly worn even in a high-speed rotation range.
This ball bearing has the retainer 4 made of a synthetic resin so structured that hemispherical pockets 7 for housing a ball 3 are formed on facing surfaces of two annular bodies 6a and 6b axially facing to each other at an equal interval in the circumferential direction; axially projecting engagement claws 8 are formed between the pockets 7, 7 adjacent to each other of the annular bodies 6a and 6b; and engagement holes 9 for engaging the engagement claws 8 therewith are formed between the adjacent pockets 7, 7 of the annular bodies; wherein the ball 3 between an inner ring 1 and an outer ring 2 is retained by the retainer 4 made of a synthetic resin. The difference δ between the diameter A of the pocket 7 and the diameter B of the ball 3 is set to 1.0-5.0% of the ball diameter B.
