PURPOSE: To improve polishing efficiency and moreover to excellently polish work pieces to their details in a barrel polishing machine to polish the work pieces by means of polishing material received in a barrel through the rotation of the barrel by providing a regulating means to regulate the flow of the work piece to be polished inside the barrel.

CONSTITUTION: Barrels 3 mounted on plural supporting bodies 4 rotated in a Y-direction reverse to a X-direction through a belt are severally attached to a disc 1 revolved in the X-direction through a belt by actuating a motor, and work pieces A received in the barrel 3 are polished with polishing material B by the revolution and self-rotation of respective barrels 3. A regulating means 8 which allows the free flow of the polishing material B and regulates the free flow of the work pieces A to the barrel 3 is provided in each barrel 3 of a barrel polishing machine. The regulating means 8 is composed of six sheets of partitioning plates 83 having many communicating holes 82 and radially arranged in a frame body 81 framed into a about hexagon cubic shape, and each of the communicating holes 82 is formed larger than the grain diameter of the polishing material B.
