To provide a battery deterioration suppression method in which deterioration of a battery is suppressed and charging time of the battery can be shortened, and to provide a battery storage chamber, and to provide electronic equipment.
In the method, deterioration state of the battery 8 is checked and discharge voltage is detected, and based on the deterioration status and the discharge voltage of the battery 8, it is determined whether the residual capacity is over 30% of the fully charged state. When it is determined that the residual capacity of the battery 8 exceeds 30%, the switch of the battery switching part 17 is switching controlled, and the positive electrode of the battery 8 is connected to a load 19, the load 19 is driven by the energy supplied from the battery 8; and the battery is discharged, until the residual capacity of the battery 8 reaches 30% level of full charge. Then, when the residual capacity of the battery 8 reaches lower than 30% with respect to the fully charged state, a display that shows the deterioration state of the battery 8 and that urges charging operation to the user is output to a liquid crystal display 7.
