In this case, one light receiving element 23 for light quantity detection is provided outside an image formation area nearby the photoreceptor drum 22 and the respective laser oscillators 181-18n are so controlled that ≥2 scanning lights are rot made incident on the light receiving element 23, and the output signal from the light receiving element 23 corresponding to the laser oscillators 181-18n is converted into a digital signal by using one A/D converter and the converted digital signal is inputted to a signal processing circuit to control the driving currents of the respective laser oscillators 181-18n by the signal processing circuit so that the light outputs from the respective laser oscillators 181-18n becomes equal in intensity on the light reception surface of the light receiving element 23.
