Abstract:
To provide a bearing device for a wheel having high durability achieved by using a component having a non-hardened portion with increased fatigue strength.
The bearing device 1 for the wheel has an outer member 10, an inner member 20 and rollers 50. The inner member 20 is made of steel and includes a hub ring 30 on which a wheel installation flange 31 is formed. The hub ring 30 has a hardened section 39 hardened to the hardness of 50 HRC or higher by quenching, and also has a non-hardened section 33 that is the section other than the hardened section 39. The ferrite area ratio of steel forming the non-hardened section 33 is 3% or less.
