To provide a bed illuminating the feet in the periphery of the bed for a user getting down from the bed so as to improve the safety and utility of the bed.

This bed is provided with a light source 21 of an illuminating unit 20 for illuminating a part of the periphery of a place where a bed body 1 is placed, a load measuring unit 30 for detecting user' movement to the vicinity of the end part of the bed body 1 and a central control unit 40 for lighting the light source 21 of the illuminating unit 20 when the load measuring unit 30 detects the user's movement to the vicinity of the end part of the bed body. By this arrangement, when the user of the bed moves to the end part of the bed body 1 to get down from the bed in the night, the light source 21 is lighted to illuminate the floor surface 10 at the feet. Thus, before the user gets down from the bed, he can safely get down from the bed while visually confirming a place where he lands.
