PURPOSE: To provide a belt grinding assembly capable of forming a relatively small and uniform arcuate end face by grinding a surface extending between main side faces having predetermined shapes along the longitudinal direction of a slender bar.
CONSTITUTION: In a belt grinding assembly 10, a frame 72 is journaled by a pin 92 to one end of a movable plate 86 which is horizontally movable relative to a floor 82. A belt grinding device 16 driving an abrasive belt 17 and a platen 22 for supporting the back of the abrasive belt 17 are attached to a frame 81 fixed to the floor 82. Further, holders for holding workpieces are mounted at predetermined intervals to one another on the outer periphery of a wheel 28 supported on the frame 72. An adjustment device 106 for moving the frame 72 vertically is placed at the other end of the movable plate 86. The adjustment device 106 is operated so that the workpieces 12 held on the holders are pressed against the surface of the abrasive belt 17.
