To provide a belt retractor for a vehicular safety belt in which a belt web is hardly slackened.
The belt retractor comprises: a belt spool which is rotatably mounted on a frame and connected to a locking disk (18); a locking member (22) which can be turned from the initial position at which the belt spool can be freely rotated to the locking position at which the locking disk (18) is blocked not to be rotated in the unwinding direction of the belt web; and a connection disk (26) which is relatively turnable to the locking disk (18), and connected to the locking member (22) so as to turn the locking member (22) to the locking position when the relative turn occurs between the locking disk (18) and the connection disk (26), and further comprises a holding mechanism which holds the connection disk (26) at the relatively turning position with respect to the locking disk (18) when the tensioning process by a belt tensioning device is completed.
