Abstract:
To further simplify the control of a thrust force of a pulley while reducing a size of a belt-type continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A tangential friction coefficient of a non-slip side pulley is estimated from a tangential friction coefficient and a winding diameter of a slip-side pulley, torque transmitted by a metal belt is calculated from the tangential friction coefficient and the winding diameter of the slip-side pulley, a necessary thrust force of the non-slip side pulley is calculated from the torque and a winding diameter of the non-slip side pulley, a ratio is changed by reducing a ratio holding thrust force of the non-slip side pulley toward the necessary thrust force, a gear change can be thereby performed by only reducing the thrust force of the non-slip side pulley; therefore, the durability of the pulley and the metal belt can be improved, and a load of a hydraulic pump can be reduced. Furthermore, since a gear change region is set to a region in which a drive pully constantly becomes a non-slip side pully and a driven pulley constantly becomes a slip-side pulley, the control of the thrust force of the pulley can be simplified.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
