Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bias function to obtain a linear operation of a power amplifier. SOLUTION: The active bias control circuit obtains a linear operation of an RF power amplifier and a current generating circuit supplies a current to a state of the RF power amplifier 50. The current in a final power amplifier stage is fed to a bias controlled amplifier including a transistor(TR) 46 of a diode connection. The TR is connected to an emitter of a bias controlled TR 48 via a resistor and a bias current with a required maximum current level to obtain a maximum RF power is given to a gate of the TR power amplifier at the final current amplifier stage of the RF power amplifier to control the TR. The TR 46 and the current generating circuit are connected also to a bias control TR of other stage in the RF power amplifier and the other stage is controlled with a current from the current generator.
