PURPOSE: To provide a developer which does not at all contain a charge control agent, with which no toner scatters, which has excellent in chargeability (particu larly in a high humidity condition), with which a copied image having a required density can be stably obtained for a long time, and which is excellent in anti- offset property, fixing property and anti-spent property.
CONSTITUTION: A binary system developer contains toner and carrier. The toner contains toner particles which in turn contains fixing resin and a predetermined ratio of magnetic powder, the fixing resin being a composition containing at least one kind of styrene-acrylic group copolymer. This at least one kind of styrene-acrylic resin copolymer is composed of an anionic polar group, a component having an alkyl group having a carbon number of greater than 12 in the side chain, and a grafted wax component, which are independent from each other or in combination, and has a predetermined molecular weight and acid value. Each of the carrier particles is composed of a core particle and a cover layer with which the core particle is covered, the cover layer is made of a resin composition containing alkylated melamine resin and acrylic denatured silicone resin, having a predetermined molecular weight.
