Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous binder high in binding properties, causing no oxidation degradation specifically in an electrode environment, and low in an environment load, and an electrode and a battery which use the aqueous binder.SOLUTION: There is provided a binder composition for a battery electrode, which contains a polymer and does not contain a metal compound, the polymer being obtained in the presence of a polymerization initiator including no metal atom and an emulsifier including no metal compound and including (I) a constitutional unit derived from a (meth)acrylate monomer (A) with a hydroxyl group and (II) a constitutional unit derived from a multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomer (B). There are also provided an electrode and a battery which use the binder composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None
