Abstract:
To provide a binder resin used in an aqueous inkjet ink, capable of forming a high-picture quality color printing image using the inkjet ink on a substrate to be printed which does not apply a surface treatment and has a low ink penetrability and capable of obtaining a favorable adhesion of the formed ink image to the substrate.SOLUTION: A binder resin includes a methacrylic resin which is a block copolymer including a hydrophobic polymer block and a hydrophilic polymer block comprising a methacrylate monomer including methacrylic acid. The hydrophobic polymer block is prepared using a monomer including as a formation component, at least one monomer A selected from the group consisting of benzyl methacrylate, isobutyl methacrylate, tert-butyl cyclohexyl methacrylate, dicyclopentenyloxyethyl methacrylate and dicyclopentanyl methacrylate and besides, the acid value of the hydrophilic polymer block is 50 to 250 mgKOH/g.SELECTED DRAWING: None
