Abstract:
To provide biodegradable polymeric compositions having good resistance to ageing and to low humidity conditions.
The present invention provides the polymeric compositions which contain thermoplastic starch and a thermoplastic polymer incompatible with starch, in which the starch constitutes the dispersed phase and the thermoplastic polymer constitutes the continuous phase, and are selected from: (A) compositions containing specific surfactants; (B) compositions wherein the thermoplastic polymer is a specific polyester; and (C) compositions wherein the thermoplastic polymer is selected from specific polymers, and the compositions are obtained by extrusion under specific conditions.
