Abstract:
A personal identification system (10) includes a user database (30) and a knowledge database (40). The user database (30) stores personal data of users. The knowledge database stores (40) knowledge data relating to the personal data stored in the user database. The personal identification system (10) generates a query on the basis of the knowledge data stored in the knowledge database (40), issues the generated query, and screens candidates for identification in accordance with an answer to the query, prior to an identification process such as biometric matching using the user database (30).
