Abstract:
To provide a bipolar plate for redox flow battery capable of obtaining high conductivity, while realizing thinning, flexibility and characteristics not deteriorating for vanadium sulfate solution, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A bipolar plate 1 for redox flow battery charging and discharging by using ion oxidation-reduction of vanadium, and the like, contains 15-40 pts. mass of fiber resin, and 85-60 pts. mass of a conductive material having better conductivity than the fiber resin 2. The fiber resin 2 contains polypropylene fiber system 3 having average fiber length of at least 1-80 mm, and a conductive material 5 contains at least any one of particulate conductive material 6 and fiber-like conductive material 7. The fiber resin 2 and the fiber-like conductive material 7 flow into the gap of a three-dimensional network formed between the particulate conductive materials 6 of the conductive material 5 and close the gap, and since the fiber resin 2, the particulate conductive materials 6 and the fiber-like conductive material 7 are integrated while intricately intertwined, a large number of particulate conductive materials 6 are connected rigidly thus improving conductivity.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
