Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade which breaks cutting chips into smaller pieces having a suitable size in a recessed groove when large sticky chips are generated at the time of cutting an object.
SOLUTION: The blade 1 is formed of a metallic base 2 and segments 3 fixed to the same. Each segment 3 has a recess 4 opening in an outer peripheral surface thereof. The opening, for instance, of the recess 4 is formed like a rectangle. With respect to the shape of the recess in a direction from an outer peripheral side to an inner peripheral side (depth direction), the recess has a width that is the same from the segment outer peripheral surface down to a predetermined location but becomes narrower from the predetermined location toward the inner peripheral side. Further, the recess 4 has a joint portion 5 arranged therein, which connects between portions of respective side surfaces of the recess 4 by means of a bond.
