Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform the bleaching of chemical pulp in high ligninremoving efficiency at a low cost while suppressing the environmental pollution by pretreating a pulp with an acid as the 1st-stage bleaching treatment and treating the pretreated pulp with oxygen, a peroxide and a magnesium compound in an alkaline medium.

CONSTITUTION: Digested chemical pulp is pretreated with an acid as the 1st- stage bleaching treatment in a multi-stage bleaching process and then treated with oxygen, a peroxide and a magnesium compound in an alkaline medium to achieve the bleaching of the pulp.
