Title:
BONDED FLUX FOR SUBMERGED ARC WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62259697
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simultaneously satisfy large heat input-weldability and high-speed weldability and to enable good repetitive welding by consisting the compsn. of a bonded flux of a specific ratio of TiO2 and or specific ratio of Ti, B2O3, metallic carbonate, MgO, Al2O3, and SiO2 and specifying the air permeability thereof to a prescribed or above.

CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of the bonded flux is composed of 5W25wt.% TiO2, and/or 0.1W3.0% Ti, 0.1W1.05 B2O3, 1W9% metallic carbonate ore in terms of CO2, 15W35% MgO, 15W35% Al2O3, and 10W20% SiO2. The total of the contents of the three components; MgO, Al2O3 and SiO2 is adjusted to 100% and said components are incorporated into the flux at 35W55%MgO, 20W45% Al2O3 and 10W30% SiO2. The air permeability of the bonded flux is so determined that the value obtd. by the formula attains≥200. The large heat input-welding and high-speed welding are executed with good workability of such flux raw material is used.
