To provide a book-rest which, when it is used by one who is lying on the back, does not fall even if it is not held by the hand and does not need to be removed for interruption and, when it is used by one who is sitting, can allow the user to arrange the place of its book-placing board at a proper height.

Two struts are stood on a base board turnably and detachably. A height control board is attached to the struts vertically movably. A metal joint is attached to the height control board turnably and detachably. A book-placing board is attached to the metal joint horizontally turnably and detachably.
