To provide a bookrest in common use as a table which is not changed in the angle of the bookrest in spite of the regulation of arm positions and allows the easy removal of an attachment to retain a book and to make this bookrest easily usable even at a bed.

Both flanks of a table 1 on which the book is placed are provided with size regulating plates 3 which are laterally moved in and out by guides 2. The right and left pages of the book are retained by press contact parts 5 disposed at the end faces of a plastic cover 4. A perpendicular strut fixable to the perpendicular handrail, etc., of the bed is provided with the horizontal arm which vertically regulatably slides and is rotatable around the perpendicular strut 11. The intermediate horizontal arm and the table mounting arm are pivotally supported in this order at the front end of the horizontal arm. The table 1 is fixed at a free angle to the table mounting arm.
