To enable reading for a long time without causing fatigue of the eyes by erecting a bookrest board support part with prescribed height on a base, providing a bookrest board in the support part by means of a proper means to be freely tilting possible in a left and right direction and also arranging a means for locking a book on the bookrest board in an open state.

The bookrest board support part 2 with prescribed height is erected on the base 1, a rotary shaft part 3 penetrates at the center of the upper part of the support part 2 in a freely left and right rotatable state and the center of the lower part of the bookrest board 4 is fixed to the tip of the rotary shaft part 3. That is, the bookrest board 4 is supported by the rotary shaft part so as to be freely tilting possible in the left and right direction. The bookrest board 4 is constituted by projectingly arranging a book placement part 6 at a lower end and projectingly disposing a bar shape book lock part 7 at the center of the back surface of the bookrest board 4 in a vertical direction. Then a book pinch band 10 is hung over a book pinch band anchor part 8 at the upper end of the book lock part 7 and a book pinch band putting-through ring part 9 at the center of the book placement part 6 as the means for locking the book in the open state so that the book is fixed by the band 10.
