To provide a bookrest capable of being applied to books in various large and small sizes and stably and surely restricting a book with pages opened regardless of the size of the book.

This bookrest is provided with a stand part 1 for letting a book or the like stand while opening it and a backrest part 2 rising from the stand part 1 to as to support the book or the like opened while standing on the stand part 1 from the back side. Then, a pair of left and right recessed guide grooves 4 laterally extended whose outer end sides reach the left and right outer end faces of the backrest part 2 and opened there are provided on the front face of the backrest part 2, and a pair of left and right slide members 5 are respectively inserted and held through outer end openings into the recessed grooves 4 so as to be freely inserted/ejected and reversibly exchanged. Then, the slide members 5 are respectively provided with page restrict parts 8 at one end part, the page restrict part 8 can select a first position of small mutual interval or a second position of large mutual interval by reversibly switching the slide member 5 and at the first and second positions, the mutual interval can be adjusted by sliding and displacing the slide member 5 from side to side.
