To provide a bookrest capable of surely mounting a book without moving or dropping the book mounted on a mounting plate, surely holding the page of the mounted book without hiding printed words, simply and easily turning and settling a page, simply and easily switching the bookrest when using it in a sitting position or while lying on the back and being variously used further at a low cost.

The bookrest is configured by connecting the mounting plate and a base plate supporting the mounting plate, recessed parts on both sides of the mounting plate are formed roughly in a step shape, a plurality of recessed parts are formed at the upper end center part of the mounting plate, support parts with attaching holes are respectively provided in a direction symmetrical to each other on the same line of the back surface center of the mounting plate and the base plate, and the head part of the page presser of a holding plate part provided on the mounting plate surface lower part is in a circular shape.
