PURPOSE: To raise an oscillation output voltage by using a nonlinear capacitor for a boosting oscillating circuit.
CONSTITUTION: As power source 1 is put to work, nonlinear capacitor 6 is charged via inductor 2. Once the voltage across capacitor 6 exceeds a prescribed value, thyristor 5 conducts. As discharge current i2 decreases below a holding current, thyristor 5 turns off. Then, the charge of capacitor 6 restarts. As a result, electromagnetic energy accumulated in inductor 2 increases the rising speed of the charged voltage across capacitor 6. When an oscillation voltage enters the nonlinear range of capacitor 6, the oscillation output voltage rises rapidly and an oscillation frequency also increases. Then, even if a voltage applied later rises, the charged voltage across capacitor 6 is nearly constant.
