PURPOSE: To easily and smoothly insert a brake disk between pads by attaching a guide member to one surface of the brake disk and inserting the brake disk between the pads while sliding the one pad of a brake caliper on a guide surface.
CONSTITUTION: A contact surface 20a in the lower surface of an adapter 20 is attached to an upper surface 3a of a brake disk 3 by lowering a guide plato 10, and a caliper 8 is positioned before the guide plate 10. After the caliper B is advanced to a position where the guide plate 10 and a front edge of an upper side pad 9 are overlapped with each other in a belt shaped region N1 as viewed in a plane part, the caliper 8 is lowered till a lower surface 9a of an upper side pad 9 is brought into contact with a guide surface 10a. The caliper 8 is mounted to a workpiece W by advancing the caliper 8 while turning it in a horizontal plane after the guide plate 10 is relieved by horizontally moving the lower surface 9a of the upper side pad 9 in a guide surface direction of the guide plate 10.
