The brake operation device is equipped with a cylinder 26 which is vertically installed with a vehicle body 1 and has an upwardly opened locking groove 26B, a lever 27 which is guided by the cylinder 26 and vertically slidably provided, and a locking piece 28 which is inserted into the locking groove 26B and engaged. The lever 27 is connected with a screwed hole provided on a lever upper part 27U by screwing a screw axis where the lever upper part 27U and a lever lower part 27L are separately formed and provided on the lever lower part 27L. The brake operation device is also equipped with a stopper 31 which regulates the relative rotation of the lever upper part 27U to the lever lower part 27L in a state where the lever 27 is moved to the position of the locking piece 28 pulled out from the locking groove 26B.
