Abstract:
To provide a technique that is able to hinder a situation in which a vehicle may move downward from a slope when starting from a stationary position on the slope.SOLUTION: A brake force control device for controlling a brake device that applies brake force for braking a vehicle, the brake device comprising a brake operation unit, may comprise: an acquisition unit that acquires a speed of the vehicle; a determining unit that determines that the vehicle is located on a slope; and a control unit that causes the brake device to execute an inhibiting operation in which the brake force for hindering downward movement of the vehicle from the slope is applied when a determination is made that the vehicle is located on the slope, the speed indicating that the vehicle is stationary is acquired, and the brake operation unit is not performing a braking operation for braking the vehicle, where, when the speed increasing is acquired during the inhibiting operation, the control unit gradually decreases the brake force with the increasing speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
