Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain strong bonding by providing a filler metal filling space of a specific range between a base material made of a filler metal clad brazing material and a member made of an Mg-containing Al alloy material, heat- brazing with the use of fluoride flux, and thereby sufficiently filling the filler metal between the base material and the member.
SOLUTION: The filler metal filling space is plugged in the state of wetly spreading a filler metal in it while MgF2 and the like, which are a reaction product between Mg in the member B and F in the flux, are driven out of the joining face by the filler metal. A space between the base material A and the member B is set to 0. 1-0.5 mm, desirably not less than 0.2 mm and not more than 0.4 mm. This filling space in its numerical range may be a numerical value d2>d3 decreasing from the outward to the inward of the joining face other than a constant numerical value d1, or it may be a value d4>d5 decreasing from one part to the other of a non-parallel joining face. Thus, a brazing operation can be carried out very easily and surely.
