To measure the DC resistance value of a shielding copper tape without being affected by an AC component even if the AC component is induced in the shielding copper tape.
The breaking inspection circuit for the high voltage cable shielding copper tape is equipped with condensers at every phase respectively connected across the respective other ends of the shielding copper tapes TPR and TPS at every phase, which are wound around the cover insulating material of the high voltage cable supplying AC power of at least two phases or more in the extension direction of the high voltage cable and earthed at one ends thereof, and earth, and resistance measuring means (B, VR, I and V) connected to the connection sides of the shielding copper tapes of the condensers to measure the resistance values of the shielding copper tapes TPR and TPS of two phases.
